A Quiet Day Inside the Larger Work
Today was a true rest day, which meant no gym, no heavy implements, and no video to document.
The physical work was deliberately small: five crocodile breaths and five minutes with my legs elevated. Crocodile breathing is a floor-based breathing drill that encourages controlled diaphragmatic breathing, while the elevated-leg position gives me a quiet opportunity to settle down and recover.
That was the entire training log, and that was enough.
A rest day does not need to disguise itself as another workout to be valuable. Tomorrow brings another competition-event preparation session, so today’s responsibility was to recover, feel good, and arrive ready to work.
The rest of the day still carried plenty of FERRAXIS WORKS energy. I spent time developing my 3D-printed miniature barbell designs and working on an application for a summer artist residency. Those projects may seem distant from strongman training, but they belong to the same larger life I am building.
Strength is one part of that life. Creative work is another. Discipline has to hold all of it together.
There was no dramatic lift today and no number destined for a thumbnail. Just a quiet day with a small amount of recovery work, meaningful progress elsewhere, and growing anticipation for tomorrow.
The body rested. The forge did not go quiet.
Discipline. Power. Rise.
