July 17, 2026: The Iron Rested, but the Forge Stayed Lit

The Iron Rested, but the Forge Stayed Lit

Today was a true rest day.

No gym. No heavy implements. No attempt to turn recovery into another disguised training session.

I completed five Crocodile Breathing breaths, elevated my legs for five minutes, and otherwise allowed the physical work to remain quiet. Tomorrow’s workout has already been occupying space in my mind, so today became an opportunity to settle myself, think through the work ahead, and arrive prepared rather than merely eager.

The Forge Stayed Lit

The body rested, but FERRAXIS WORKS was not exactly idle.

I spent a good portion of the day developing 3D mini barbell displays that I plan to make available through the FERRAXIS WORKS Etsy shop soon. There were measurements to refine, pieces to test, and decisions to make about how these small displays should look once they move from an idea on my screen to something physical that another person can place on a shelf.

It was not strongman training, but it still felt connected to the same larger work.

FERRAXIS WORKS has always been about more than recording numbers on a barbell. It is the training, the competitions, the ideas, and the objects that grow out of this life I am building around strength. Today, that meant making very small barbells while deliberately staying away from the full-sized ones.

There is no video for today. There was nothing that needed to be performed for a camera.

The iron rested. I prepared for tomorrow. The miniature version of it continued taking shape at home.
